Becoming before Doing.
Recently, someone asked me what it means when I say, "God is more interested in who you are becoming than what you do for Him."
It is great that we work for the Lord. God seeks labourers on the earth to carry out His purposes. He desires that you and I rise up and continue the work He preordained for each of us from the beginning.
But here is where we sometimes miss it.
We get carried away with working for the Lord that we forget the most important thing… which is who we are becoming in Christ.
God loves us so much, and He desires that we all grow in Christlike character and become vessels that showcase His glory.
He is interested in you serving and working for Him, but His heart is fixated more on who you are becoming while you are at work.
Is the character of Christ being formed in you as you work?
God cares more about your spiritual development and maturity than anything you could ever do for Him.
He wants you to be fully established in His love before He launches you into the work He has for you.
He desires you as a lover first before you become a labourer in His vineyard.
That's what I mean when I say that God is more interested in who you are becoming than what you do for Him.
